Urithi Foods
Where spice traditions run deep, Urithi Spices is more than just a brand—it’s a bridge between generations of farmers and kitchens across the country. Founded by Grace Richard Shio in 2019, Urithi Spices emerged as a beacon of resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering not only rich, aromatic blends but also a lifeline for farmers and communities. Sourcing cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, black pepper, and turmeric from farmer groups across Tanzania, Urithi Spices works closely with 30 women and 15 youth-led farms, ensuring that every spice is carefully harvested, sorted, and prepared with skill and passion. Each grain of spice carries the touch of women who have spent their lives perfecting the craft—sorting by hand, preserving quality, and infusing every blend with the essence of Tanzanian heritage. With Urithi Spices, every meal becomes a celebration of women’s labor, resilience, and dedication to flavoring the world, one spice at a time.
